August 29, 2010

Another good week but where has August gone?  The year is just flying by - hard to believe.

We arrived at Rocky Mountain House (RMH) on the 23rd where Al & Vicki have a new RV... Carrier-Lite by Carriage.  It is a Cadillac of RV's with everything in it from dishwasher to washer/dryer to fireplace and more!  It really is a palace!

We spent several days laying around talking, had a couple of fires and even played a game or two of Quackers or was it Wackers or was it Clackers.  Whatever it is called, we played it (yes even I played) and of course the games were really close... Al & Dave - 3; Vicki & Arda - ZERO!  :-)

Breanne came up to RMH on Tuesday for a couple of days of R & R.  She has a brutal schedule but is doing well at both her job and school.  She seems very well suited for the career she has chosen... a child and youth care worker.

On Friday we headed to Calgary for the weekend before we head to the west coast.  We are staying at the same campground (Calgary West) where we have stay in the past.  It is handy to Al's as well as shopping, food, etc.

On Friday one of Vicki's friends from Edmonton (Paulina) who has her own catering business, brought dinner of carrots, shrimp, twice backed potatoes, pork tenderloin, cookies and a couple of other things.  It was EXCELLENT!

Saturday Arda spent most of the day doing laundry so we are set for a couple more weeks... maybe months if we either quit wearing underwear, turn it inside out, or trade... maybe a combination of all three?  HA!  We went to a local Mexican Restaurant so we could get a Mexican fix.  It was a nice local place where they had a guitarist and singer who started as we were finishing dinner... very nice place.

Sunday Arda and I went to St Luke's Church which is probably the most diversified church we've been in... lots of nationalities and whites were almost a minority.  Al made some excellent waffles for lunch and he is going to cook steaks for dinner... can't wait.  We also got to see Kelsey for a few minutes... she looks really good but was busy with her friends so maybe next time we hope we will be able to spend a little more time with her.

Tomorrow we head west again so I don't know when we will have Internet again but when we do, I'll be back.  In the meantime, keep you loops open.
