Yesterday (Monday) turned into a day of rest as it rained most of the day and we decided to just take it easy. If Don/Gale are reading this, I want you to know Arda found the game Farkle so guess what we are playing now... thanks a lot! :-)
Today (Tuesday) we decided to look around the area. We took our "hosts" advice and drove out to the end of the road at Dungesness Bay where we had lunch in a very nice restaurant, "The Three Crabs". The Clam Chowder was excellent as were the crab cakes and fish although I did question the crab as signs on the beach said they were poison... I'll guess we'll see. If this web-site never gets updated again, you'll know what happened... :-)
We also saw "Lavender Farms". I didn't know they "grew Lavender (a herb)" never mind that there are at fields that contain more than 15,000 plants of more than 50 varieties. The rows of lavender when blooming vary from white and pink to shades of violet and deep purple - gorgeous. Harvesting of Lavender is done by cutting the plants, tying them together via their stems and hanging them in a cool, dry place until dry which take 1 - 2 weeks. After they are dried, the flowers provide the fragrance, which are used for various things.
We also drove around Sequim (pronounced Sqim) which is a very nice and relatively new. We also drove through Post Angeles which is an older, sea-port town. Tomorrow we are going to take a tour of Victoria so I will have more to report in a couple of days.
Here are few pictures from today... Sequim, WA
Keep your loops open until the next time.
